I can work from meaningful handwriting such as a note, card, letter, recipe, signature, children’s writing, or a small drawing. Short messages, a signature, or a few treasured lines generally translate most beautifully into embroidery.

No. Please keep the original safe with you. I only need a clear photo or scan of the handwriting.

A scan is ideal, but a clear phone photo also works well. Place the note flat in natural, even light and take the photo directly from above.

For the cleanest result, please avoid:

• Blurry or dark photos
• Strong shadows or reflections
• Photos taken at an angle
• Writing obscured by folds, fingers, or other objects
• Screenshots where the handwriting is very small or pixelated

Dark pen on plain, light-coloured paper tends to produce the clearest embroidery result.

It depends on the amount of writing and the finished size of your keepsake. A short note, signature, or selected passage is usually best, as it allows the writing to remain legible and true to its character.

For longer letters and recipes, I can help you choose the lines that matter most, or you can enquire about a larger custom piece.

The aim is to honour the personality and feeling of the original handwriting as closely as possible. Because handwriting is translated from paper into thread, small changes in line thickness, spacing, or detail can occur.

Each piece is individually prepared and stitched, so it will be a faithful interpretation rather than an exact printed copy.

I can recreate the handwriting that appears in the image you send. If you would like a new phrase assembled from separate notes or letters, please get in touch before ordering so I can assess whether it is possible and quote accordingly.

You’ll be able to select from the available thread options when placing your order. I choose colours that feel soft, timeless, and easy to live with, so each keepsake can sit beautifully in a home or frame.

No. Your embroidered keepsake arrives unframed, ready for you to place in a frame that suits your home. The listing will include the recommended frame size.

Each keepsake is made to order. Please allow approximately 2-4 weeks for your piece to be created before it is posted.

If you need your order for a particular date, please contact me before purchasing. I’ll always be honest about whether I can accommodate it.

If you need a keepsake sooner, please contact me before placing your order. Rush availability depends on my current order queue and the complexity of your piece. An additional fee may apply.

Yes. You can have your keepsake delivered directly to the recipient. Add their name and delivery address at checkout, and leave a note if you would like a short gift message included.

Kindred Thread Studio is based in Australia and ships world-wide. 

All orders are carefully packaged to protect the embroidery in transit. Tracking details will be sent once your keepsake has been dispatched

Handwriting can hold very personal stories. I may occasionally photograph finished pieces for Kindred Thread Studio’s website or social media, but I will always respect your privacy.

If you would prefer your keepsake not to be photographed or shared, simply let me know when you order.

If the handwriting is too blurry, dark, incomplete, or low-resolution to create a quality piece, I’ll contact you to request another photo or scan.

If we are unable to find a suitable image, you will be offered a full refund before work begins.

As each item is made specifically from your supplied handwriting, returns or change-of-mind exchanges are not available.

However, I want you to feel cared for throughout the process. If there is an issue with your order, please contact me within 1 day of receiving it and I’ll do my best to find a fair solution.
